RIF Top 5: Books with RED Covers

RIF Top 5: Books with RED Covers

For February, our Top 5 category here at Read Indie Fantasy is books with red covers. The plan was to release this in time for Valentine’s Day, because reasons. Unfortunately, we missed the date due to site issues, so we’re a bit late. On top of that, my colour vision isn’t the best so it’s really Books With Red and Reddish Orange Covers.

With that out of the way, here we go, in no particular order:

We’re All Monsters Here

By Amy Marsden

Both I and Trudie read and loved this book for the first SFINCS novella competition where it was one of the finalists. In brief, it’s about a vampire killing a bunch of corporate executive douchebags.

RADIO

By J. Rushing

Trudie sums up her review of Radio like this:

RADIO revealed its secrets with a delightful writing style that I thoroughly enjoyed. I have to admit that the ending both made me laugh and also say โ€œoh Jesusโ€ out loud, so well done! Iโ€™d love to read more of Mโ€™s adventures and world in the future.

City of Reckoning

By Brianna Da Silva

I sum up my review of City of Reckoning like this:

This is a massive chonker of a book, but it still feels like a quick, easy read.

In this case “chonker” means it’s nearly a thousand pages of grand, epic fantasy. Despite its length, and despite everything that happens, the book never really feels long.

A Threat Of Shadows

By J.A. Andrews

A Threat of Shadows is the first book in the Keeper Chronicles. At its core, this is epic fantasy, but there’s a focus on character development and personal struggles that sets the series apart from so many other epic fantasy stories.

The Witch of Webs

By Pirateaba

The last year and a half, I’ve been obsessed by The Wandering Inn, so of course I need to include one of the books in the series here. Being a web novel, this is more like a long running soap opera in a fantasy litrpg setting, and not a novel with a distinct beginning and end.
